And what is the catch? ``Zep: As you have a reputation for velocity I thought I would match it. ``Vanna: Go on! ``Zep: There is a meteorite coming this way and I need you to chase it and land on it if possible, as we need to know its volume. ``Where is it? It is coming from Triangulum towards Polaris and could go overhead us. ``Vanna: That is a terrific fuel bill and we have qaa filling stations other than Algol and it could be a high speed chase! ``Zep: That is why you have got the job. ``Vanna: Typical. Costs? ``Zep: Name it? ``Vanna: ¢5K for fuel and ¢5K per trip. ``Zep: Approved. It will initially come out of SAA funds. ``Vanna: Okay I will action the crew for immediate embargo. Zimo.

A priority mail to Team. Subject. Scramble. Meet at Airbase now, for immediate departure to chase a meteorite. Sent. I might need Hippy, although my first problem is, we could run out of fuel! I could land back in on SP11and put in 1K litres.-|-``Leila: What is all this about? ``Vanna: Hop over and see Kara and get a some food packs and water quin. ``Leila: Certus. ``Vanna: Mails in from Albi and Tetra. Actioned.

``Leila: Colly to Airbase dropping down, down. ``Vanna: Zarfs Leila. ``Leila: I might as well come! ``Tetra: Fluffy to Airbase, dropping down, oh dear, there is already two on the pad, down. --- That is different. Will we need another Hopper pad at this rate? ``Vanna: Ziggy is ready to go.

``Albi: Hatches secured and 2 greens. ``Tetra: Auto course to Cosmo and docking. [Clonk]
[Cosmo Bridge]
``Albi: Hatches secured and 5 greens. ``Tetra: Course laid in for Triangulum. ``Vanna: Unlocking orbit. Mach 3500 and zoom. ``Tetra: Wow, have you had another modification fitted? ``Vanna: Zaa. We may even need more velocity. ``Tetra: Fuel is a problem! ``Vanna: Zaa. We will have to land back on SP11 and will need to order up 1,000 litres of fuel.
[Cosmo Mess]
``Leila: I have done us a hot snack. ``Vanna: Wonderful. ``Albi: This is a strange task. ``Vanna: Why worry as we are being paid. ``Albi: I am not complaining. ``Vanna: We need some fresh work, as all the other jobs have finished. ``Tetra: So it appears to be doing average velocity? ``Leila: We get hundreds of them on Earth, and they usually come from our asteroid belt. They burn up through the Earth's atmosphere at very high speed, but this appears to be different! ``Albi: Neither is this one going towards Earth. ``Leila: It is going towards the inner circle and Polaris. Could this mean that the coldness of the inner circle is drawing it towards it as it is creating a draft? ``Vanna: It is a possibility, but it also depends the depth and thickness of the atmosphere. The velocity depends on where it originated from.

``Master: Congratulations on your test pilot status, you certainly did wind Zep up. However, I never know where you are these days. ``Vanna: Get Zep over, so we can talk live, as we are chasing a meteorite. ``Master: That is different. I will be back shortly.
[Later]
``Zep: I did not think it was possible to have a visual option. ``Vanna: All part of the service. We are getting close to Triangulum, and it appears to be moving at a reasonable speed, probably at about 500 Mach. We might try and break it up with our lasers, but if that fails, it is likely to pick up speed, especially after we have charged it with an energy source. ``Zep: In that case, just track it. Is it going towards Polaris? ``Vanna: Zaa, but we have no communication there. I will contact Planet-Q.
