Alien Escapade • Episode 0979 - The Padding Pads: Elder 1, Elder 2, Elder 3, Elder 4, Leila, Loggers, Pilot, Vanna, ~ 08 (Oligarchy Committee Meeting ~ 6) ``Elder 1: Zaffre Leila and Vanna for coming in. One of our old problems is over the insurance policy with the old and new company at Space Dock which has still not been settled. They are demanding payment from the old company. So we need your advice. ``Vanna: Leila and I have been over this, and Leila is the expert on these maters, but we have both agreed on the way forward. ``Leila: Firstly:- 1) We are happy to challenge you in a court of law, because there is nothing in your contract to say that we must pay the full amount even though the old company went out of business. Therefore unless you can prove otherwise, we will submit a counter claim. 2) You did agree that we could have a new contract under the new company which has a total new directorship. Therefore why are you trying to get out of your binding contract? We will also submit a counter claim, and find an alternative insurance company and there is a good one on Algol. 3) There was a two week gap when we were not legally covered owing to your delays in issuing the new paperwork for the new company. Also we took out a different policy with yourselves as the old package did not cover half the things it should have done. Fortunately for you, the old company is defunct, otherwise they would be putting in a counterclaim. Therefore quin submit any further claims to our Advocates, so we can proceed with court proceedings against yourselves, and will give you the statutory 8 qef notice of cancellation of our policy. ``Elder 4: I like it, as long as it will hold up in court. ``Leila: You can never tell, but they do have to prove negligence's on our part. ``Elder 3: I think the worst thing the court could do, is to make us pay and pay their legal expenses. ``Leila: Did you guarantee it? ``Elder 3: Not to my knowledge. All they got was a budget from us. ``Leila: Were they employed by you? ``Elder 4: Qaa, They were paid out of their budget, as it is the same now. The only additional cost is the ¢1 Million redevelopment fee. ``Leila: Therefore they have to prove this, as in their submission. ``Elder 2: I am not up on these matters, but I agree we should not have to pay another company's debts as we did not take them over. ``Leila: Good point and I missed that one. ``Elder 1: Are we all in agreement? [Zaa's] Zaffre, Leila and Vanna. ``Vanna: We are off to Lacerta in the morning, with the second sale of a Vulcan, so we must go. Zimo. {Vanna's Trullo ~ 3} - [Mini Pad] ``Pilot: We have to sink a new cable into the ground of your Trullo, as it is too short and you have extra cables for remote access. ``Vanna: Fine with me. So are there 4 for lunch? ``Pilot: Zaa. ``Vanna: I will get Kara over. Can I to have the green dye? ``Pilot: Certus, and it has to be 20m away from a building. ``Vanna: I remember that when they upgraded SP7 and SP8. ``Pilot: We had the boss out so in away, I am honoured as it means they have all been on a refresher course. ``Vanna: Can you have an extended lunch hour? ``Pilot: Certus, before or afterwards? ``Vanna: Before? ``Pilot: Zaa. The only other alteration is that another tree will have to go, but you are okay as you have a load more in the woods. ``Vanna: I will call in the loggers now, so you can instruct them. I would prefer a little more room, so let us get it all done now. ``Loggers: Quano. ``Pilot: We need this tree chopped back and this one taken out as well as the roots! ``Lodgers: We cannot chop that one back, because in time it would collapse, so that too has to be taken out. ``Vanna: Under these circumstances I accept. ``Pilot: Agreed. ``Loggers: These are quiet large trees, and they would die in time as there is not enough nourishment to keep them going and would eventually die anyway.
