``Kirin: Captain do we really need the Vulcan at the moment? ``Captain: It can go on hold for a week or so. ``Kirin: Only a week? ``Captain: We may still need her. ``Kirin: Are you thinking of an influx of visitors? ``Captain: Why not, it so happens that we are now up to intergalactic standards. ``Kirin: I am all for it, but what have you in mind? ``Captain: Put the Vulcan on the Algol run, and that will leave us to go to Cepheus and Earth, and we can now try for Lacerta or Ceres. ``Kirin: Blimey, that is being adventurous. So we will need another pilot? ``Captain: I think I will have to advertise for one. ``Kirin: We are already pushed to the limits. ``Captain: Zaa, and we cannot afford to pass our traffic over to another company, so we will need all three. ``Kirin: Where will we park the Vulcan? ``Captain: Simple, next to the Hopper-Dock on the plateau. I have asked Tetra to look into it. ``Kirin: This is amazing news, as we need someone to train up on the S172. ``Captain: Confirmed. Jarry should get his qualifications soon, and we will need a new steward. ``Kirin: Skipper is still going ahead upgrading to S182? ``Captain: Zaa. ``Kirin: Marvellous. ``Captain: I have a one-off chartered flight with return booking a week later, from Atlantic City. So how much shall we charge? ``Kirin: Normal price is ¢975 per passenger, so for 8 = ¢7.800; and for 11 = ¢9625. ``Captain: In that case, I will do 8 for ¢7,000 and 11 for ¢900. ``Kirin: Who the hell is behind this one? ``Captain: The Chief and the Sheriff. ``Kirin: Not Vanna? ``Captain: Who knows! ``Kirin: Okay, you win. So that is an equivalent to just under ¢1, per kilometre, including the return flight, as it is 10,045 Km, each way. ``Captain: So it is.

``Tetra: Mum, I have another job to do for the Captain. ``Selina: I am pleased for you. ``Tetra: I have more surveying to do for another extension to Space Dock. ``Selina: Pardon! ``Tetra: Actually I can get Vanna to help and we can do the aero runs in her hopper-hopper. This time, she can bill me for a change. ``Selina: When did this all happen? ``Tetra: High information load, unable to answer your question at this moment in time. ``Selina: Oh heck. Invite Vanna over quin, ASAP. ``Tetra: Zarfs, Mum. Must go, too much work to do. ``Selina: I am hearing things. They have not even finished this lot yet. So what on earth is going on?

{Kern’s Place + Qualla ~ 2}
``Qualla: I have heard a good rumour about you! ``Kern: Excellent, but my mouth is shut tight. ``Qualla: Are you willing to do more time on Patrol? ``Kern: Zaa. ``Qualla: They want you at Space Dock as the Local Officer. ``Kern: Blimey, that would be good. ``Qualla: Whatever you did, it has earned you promotion. ``Kern: That is a job I will enjoy, and get paid for it. ``Qualla: I leave the rest to you on that one. As Vanna says, it is best if I do not know what is happening, but all I do know is, that it is happening out there. ``Kern: Any other news? ``Qualla: Rumours of more intergalactic runs. ``Kern: That is why I am needed.

{Kirin’s Place + Ming ~ 2}
``Kirin: I want to know what you have in mind, and how much more are you willing to help? ``Ming: This is becoming a full time job, and I have to be at the store, as that is my job. So what do you expect me to do? ``Kirin: The problem is that if I try and change your attitude, it goes wrong and then I will get the blame. ``Ming: Stop talking in riddles. ``Kirin: Things are happening, but are you willing to go with the flow and make some changes? ``Ming: You are still talking riddles. ``Kirin: Qaa, I am not. You have to decide for yourself. ``Ming: Decide what? ``Kirin: What you are going to do. ``Ming: I have not even thought about it. ``Kirin: Well then, are you willing to consider it? ``Ming: I suppose so, but what? ``Kirin: Do you or do you not want to do more runs and trips? ``Ming: I am not sure. ``Kirin: There is an opportunity opening up, on the job front. Are you interested? ``Ming: Oh that is what you mean! I could do, but what? ``Kirin: Saucer, Hostess. ``Ming: I might, but I cannot keep doing both. ``Kirin: That’s enthusiasm for you!
