Jarry, Jinn, Leila, Vanna, Zola ~ 5

{Safe House ~ 3}
``Zola: All okay. ``Vanna: Zaa. ``Zola: That is a relief, so what has happened? ``Vanna: Just a confirmation and acceptance of our proposals. You can help me with the tea, and Leila can send a SOS. I think our Captain will be eager to get back home to burn off some more fuel. So we could go home Boxing Day early morning. ``Leila: That is what I am going to send. ``Vanna: Tomorrow you can dress up and we will go down to the Garden Centre, and we will buy some Christmas decorations. This will be interesting, because I have managed to get hold of some paper chains. It was a good craze back in our sixties, and I still like them today, but it is a rarity to find them. Therefore, you can help me stick them together.

``Zola: Explain! ``Vanna: Not everyone celebrates Christmas, and it is mostly done for the children. Most only celebrate the New Year in which you do, but I live in a western society of understanding; therefore it means to me that it is a time for people to get together and relax and celebrate. To be extra nice to our neighbours as it can become a good healing process. To heal wounds so we can amend our ways of acceptance of any misunderstandings or disagreements. Or at least it is a time to agree to disagree, when you can at least say hello or good bye and talk to each other, especially your neighbours.

``Leila: Therefore we buy each other presents and send Christmas cards as a form of an acceptance that you may like the other person as in a good-will gesture. ``Vanna: A card can say thousands of words, what you may not be able to say to them individually. They may be surprised that you have sent them a card, but you are more than likely to get one back. ``Leila: In a family atmosphere many will buy a Christmas tree and presents are put under the tree for Christmas Day, which is celebrated on the 25th of December. ``Vanna: The problem I had, is that I know 4 Daphne's and when they only sign with their forename, which one is it? Therefore I sent cards to all 4 them, as a good-will gesture, so there is no malice.

``Zola: You do this once every year? ``Vanna: Yes, and we are going shopping tomorrow. I will give you some of our sterling currency, and you can buy whatever you like. We will wrap them up, so the other person does not know what is in them. ``Zola: We have a ‘day of giving’, but nothing like this. ``Vanna: Other than your New Year celebrations? ``Zola: Most go wild in Cassiopeia on that day and really let off steam.

{Gina’s Place ~ 2 + Jarry} - [Back in Cassiopeia]
``Jarry: The Captain was in a right mood the other day and all before lift-off, especially after it was imposed upon us without any notice for a trip to Earth. ``Gina: That is strange, I have never seen your Captain in a bad mood before, and I did wonder why you had disappeared at short notice! ``Jarry: He was nit picking at everything. He was rude to Kara and the fire team, not forgetting the fuel depot boss! Demanding full reports on his desk in 28th time. ``Gina: So what caused the problem? ``Jarry: There is a faulty fuel gauge unit, and the tanks were overfilling. ``Gina: Well, that is understandable. ``Jarry: So you are not on his side as well? ``Gina: Not knowing all the facts, but I think I am. ``Jarry: Charming! And I now have to write a report. ``Gina: I will read it, so I will prepare lunch whilst you get on with it. --- lunch in 10 units, so what have you written? --- That is no good, that is aggressive! ``Jarry: You write it then! ``Gina: Qaa. You must learn to do it! ``Jarry: I do not know what to say. ``Gina: Were you actually involved? ``Jarry: Qaa. ``Gina: In that case just put the facts down in chronological order as it happened. ``Jarry: I will try. --- ``Gina: Delete the bit about the Captain! ``Jarry: Qaa! That is what it is all about! ``Gina: Qaa, it is not! What could you have done to have helped the situation; and how could you work better as a team, and you are also a part of the Catering Team. ``Jarry: If I put Kara in this I could get the sack. ``Gina: Qaa way. It is to show up where the weak spots are. ``Jarry: Be it on your head. ``Gina: As long as you are telling the truth!
